This winter trip from Toronto is built around the Winter Festival of Lights. Boarding starts at 11:30 AM at 55 York St, in front of Tim Hortons, where a Gray Line representative checks guests in against the e-ticket and photo ID. The first stop is Maple Leaf Place for pure maple syrup tastings, still-warm fudge samples and artisan chocolate, with an explanation of how sap becomes syrup and a hot drink to take away. At Table Rock the group stands steps from Horseshoe Falls. Journey Behind the Falls, an add-on attraction, goes down 125 feet into tunnels behind the falls, and the description of the day mentions a boat ride as well. Free time at Table Rock can go on photos and shopping, or on a prebooked Café Market Lunch with a starter, a main and a drink, and vegetarian options. After dark the guide leads a tour of the illuminations: glowing arches and landmark installations, then Dufferin Islands, where nature-themed displays shine over still water. Extended free time follows among dozens of displays, a chocolate and cocoa trail, a light tunnel, giant snowflakes and a glowing toque and maple leaf. On select evenings fireworks go off above the illuminated falls at Queen Victoria Park, weather permitting. The coach then returns to Toronto.
