Niagara Falls Local Guide Tour: Incline Railway, Journey Behind the Falls, Boat Cruise (12/12)

This three-hour guided tour of the Canadian side of Niagara Falls takes up to 10 travelers per booking, with a local guide who speaks English. Admission is included for the Falls Incline Railway, Journey Behind the Falls (skipping the ticket line) and the Niagara City Cruises boat. Gratuities are extra. The Skylon Tower, 520 feet high, is passed rather than climbed, and the route continues through the Fallsview district past the Fallsview Casino Resort. The Falls Incline Railway then runs down the Niagara Escarpment, a short ride with views of Horseshoe Falls while the guide explains what makes the falls special. Table Rock Welcome Centre, a few steps from the brink of Horseshoe Falls, leads into Journey Behind the Falls: tunnels in the bedrock that end at an observation deck at the base of the falls, only feet from the crashing water. The walk continues through Queen Victoria Park and along the Niagara Parkway, past the Niagara Parks Power Station, with views of Horseshoe Falls and the American Falls. The guide points out the rock formations at the base of the American Falls and explains how erosion shaped them. The tour finishes at the Niagara City Cruises dock, where the guide leaves the group to ride the Hornblower cruise. The boat runs from May to December, and from January to April Niagara Takes Flight replaces it, which children under 100 cm and infants cannot take. Infants sit on an adult's lap, and small children can ride in a pram or stroller.
