Niagara Falls NY Winter Wonderland Tour: Icicles at Cave of the Winds, Groups of 12
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
Niagara FallsWinter is the whole reason for this two-hour, small-group tour, with ice on the rapids and icicles up to 30 feet long under the falls in cold spells. Professional guides cover the wonder of water at Niagara, the daredevils who took on the Whirlpool Rapids, the Whirlpool and Horseshoe Falls, and how hydropower changed the world from here. The Cave of the Winds, which is not a cave, begins with an interactive room on Niagara's history and a seven-minute film called The World Changed Here. The walkway below the falls follows, with the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls in full view. Goat Island and Three Sisters Island come next, with the rapids in winter and possibly frozen patches, then a drive across the park to the Observation Deck, the only place on the American side that shows all three falls at once. There the guide takes a family photo, and Prospect Point and the raging Niagara Rapids complete the route. National park fees, taxes and handling charges are included. Food, drinks, gratuities and souvenir photos are not. The route is wheelchair accessible but advised against for travelers with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health. Up to 12 travelers can book together, guided in English.
