Niagara Falls Small-Group Chauffeured Tour: Boat, Cave of the Winds, Tesla Statue
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
Niagara FallsThe guide here is also the driver. The group is collected from the hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle, tickets are already booked, and everyone is returned to the hotel afterward, over about three hours. Groups are small, up to 13 travelers per booking, and guiding comes in English or Arabic. The Maid of the Mist has run since 1846 and sails from April 20 to November 5. It passes the American Falls, then Bridal Veil Falls, then the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, with ponchos for everyone against the spray. The Cave of the Winds, on the American side only, starts with a small interactive museum and a cinema-style show on Nikola Tesla and his use of falls water to make electricity. After that comes the wooden deck under Bridal Veil Falls, rebuilt every year, and the Hurricane Deck, where about 60,000 gallons of water come down on visitors who choose to stand there. A walk to Luna Island, the Tesla statue, Terrapin Point on Goat Island and an elevator ride to the Observation Deck complete the stops. Gratuities are extra. The tour is wheelchair accessible, and service animals are allowed.
