Nine-Hour Niagara Falls Trip from Toronto with Skip-the-Line Cruise and Welland Canal
This nine-hour day trip from Toronto covers Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake in one coach ride. It leaves from 55 York Street at 8:30 AM and follows Lake Ontario, with the guide sharing facts about the areas along the way. At the falls, skip-the-line tickets take the group onto a Niagara City Cruise to the base of the Horseshoe Falls, with a view of the American and Bridal Veil Falls too. The boat runs from May to October; when it is closed, another attraction replaces it, Journey Behind the Falls in winter. A local professional guide leads the day. From the coach the group sees the Welland Canal, a 27-kilometer waterway with eight locks that links Lake Ontario to Lake Erie and opened in 1833, the Laura Secord homestead, the Sir Adam Beck power station, which opened in 1922, Fort George, and Queenston Heights Park with its monument to Major General Isaac Brock. These are drive-bys. The stops are the Floral Clock, which has a 40-foot face planted with over 16,000 seasonal plants, a maple syrup tasting, the Whirlpool Rapids observation deck, and one hour in Niagara-on-the-Lake before the drive back to Toronto. The itinerary can change.
