Riders get a Honda XR 250R (Yamaha WR and KTM upgrades are possible) and full gear, including a full-face helmet and gloves, for a day on the back roads to Phnom Kulen. Guests are taken from their hotel to the Dirtbike Expedition office to collect the bike, and the ride leaves early in the morning from the shop. The narrow country roads pass rice paddies, local markets, schools, villages and Buddhist temples, with a stop at a palm sugar village. On the Kulen plateau an English-speaking guide leads the way, with a pause at a viewpoint, jungle trails to the River of 1000 Lingas and a look at the Preah Ang Thom stone Buddha on its rock. Further on, the route runs through the jungle past remote villages to the life-sized stone elephants at Srah Damrei. Lunch at a local restaurant and a swim at Kulen Waterfall come before the return to Siem Reap. The price includes the Phnom Kulen ticket, a local lunch, bottled water and snacks, and hotel pickup and drop-off. Personal expenses and travel insurance are not included. Travelers need at least a moderate level of fitness, and the tour is not recommended for pregnant travelers or people with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health. Up to 12 travelers per booking.
