Plitvice Lakes and Rastoke Semi-Private Trip from Zagreb in English or Spanish
This semi-private day trip from Zagreb runs as a small group in a van or minibus, with a friendly local guide who speaks English or Spanish. Hotel pickup in Zagreb is at 8 am, and the first leg is a drive of about an hour and a half to Rastoke. The road passes Karlovac, the city on four rivers, and the guide explains how it was founded as a defence against the Ottomans. Rastoke is next, a watermill village where the Slunjčica flows into the Korana, with free time to walk around. In the park the group first circles the four Lower Lakes and the Great Waterfall, 78 meters high and the tallest in Croatia, then stops for lunch at Lake Kozjak and rides an electric boat across it. The afternoon goes to the twelve Upper Lakes and Veliki Prštavac, a waterfall of about 28 meters on Lake Galovac. A panoramic train brings everyone back to the station, followed by a final walk of about 20 minutes from a different angle. The park covers 295 square kilometers of forest and 16 terraced lakes in a limestone canyon. Customers wait in front of the meteorological pole at Zrinjevac. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure.
