Pocosol Forest Canyoning and Waterfall Rappelling with Lunch near Arenal

This canyoning trip runs through Pocosol Forest, close to the Children's Eternal Rainforest, along the Peñas Blancas River Canyon. The route goes down four waterfalls, and the guides explain the rappelling technique step by step before each descent. They also talk about the local ecology and why these ecosystems need protecting. All the gear is supplied: a harness, helmet and gloves certified for canyoning. The price also covers bottled water, a traditional Costa Rican lunch, round-trip transportation from select La Fortuna hotels and bilingual safety guides. Free parking with camera surveillance is available for those who drive. Photography is an extra, and guide gratuities are optional. The trip takes about five hours. Guests meet the ABCCanyoning guides in La Fortuna, just north of the Police Station, where they wait in white t-shirts with the company logo. Up to 15 travelers can join per booking. A moderate level of fitness is required, and the activity is not recommended for pregnant travelers or for anyone with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health. Guiding is in English and Spanish.
