Private Appleton Rum, YS Falls and Black River Safari Day Tour from Montego Bay

A full day on the South Coast, booked privately for 2 to 15 travelers and running about eight hours from hotel pickup in Montego Bay to drop-off. Three stops make up the day, and the entrance fees for all of them are in the booking: Appleton Estate, YS Falls and the Black River Safari. Beverages at Appleton Estate are included as well. Appleton Estate comes first. The visit starts with a guided walk around the grounds and a short documentary on the company and how rum is made. Then come sugar cane and its by-products to sample, the factory and the warehouse where the rum is barreled and stored, and a tasting of three Appleton rums. Comfortable walking shoes suit this part. At YS Falls the group is driven across the property to the park. Guides help visitors climb the falls, and there are rope swings, shallow swimming areas, pools, shady spots under the trees, zip lining and shopping. The last stop is a one-hour guided boat ride on the Black River, with crocodiles, birds and plant life, and some history of the river and its role in the slavery era. Lunch and gratuity are not included. The packing list is beach towels, swimwear, a dry change of clothes, water shoes, a camera and cash. Guiding is in English, and the minimum drinking age is 18.
