Private Day Tour to Jardín: Willys Jeep to Waterfalls, Coffee and Town Square
Jardín is a town in southwest Antioquia that has kept its original architecture since its foundation, and this private tour spends a day there. The drive from Medellín heads southwest into the Andes for more than an hour before the first stop at Bolombolo. Bolombolo sits at 450 metres above sea level, warm and humid, on the Cauca River, and is known for its cheese breads, tried hot from the oven. After that a Willys Jeep takes the group on off-road tracks through coffee plantations to a waterfall made of five falls, between the towns of Andes and Jardín. At a coffee farm there is a cup of coffee, followed by a 20-minute hike into open forest to the waterfall, hidden among rocks and jungle. Swimming is optional. In Jardín, whose name means garden in Spanish, the group walks the main square, streets and plazas, with the church and the flower-filled square as the centre of town. The guides present the day as an introduction to the culture and pride of the Paisas, the people of the region.
