Private Day Trip from Bangkok: Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, Kwai Bridge and Erawan
The timetable is simple: 07:00 hotel pickup in Bangkok and a return between 18:00 and 18:30, depending on traffic. In between, a private transfer and a licensed English-speaking guide cover three stops in Kanchanaburi. The first is the war cemetery, the main prisoner of war cemetery for the victims of Japanese imprisonment during the building of the Burma Railway. The Bridge over the River Kwai follows, the landmark of Kanchanaburi made famous by the film of the same name and part of the Death Railway built by prisoners of war in World War II. After an optional lunch at a local restaurant, the day moves to Erawan Waterfall National Park, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Thailand. A nature trail leads to the falls, where there is time to relax and play in the water. An optional trek to the 7th tier at the top, about 1,500 meters, is also possible. Bring a towel, a change of clothes, insect repellent, good trekking shoes and a personal medical kit, and a swimming suit. In heavy rain, travelers may not be allowed to play or swim in the waterfall. The drive back takes about 3.5 hours. Admission and activity fees as per itinerary, bottled water, accident insurance and private transport are included. Lunch, optional activities and tips are not. Pickup and drop-off cover Bangkok hotels except those around the airports. Children must be accompanied by an adult. All sales are final, with no date changes, and a missed tour is not refunded.
