Sao MiguelThis private tour covers the Nordeste area and its waterfalls, starting with a hotel pick-up at 9:00 AM or at a time agreed with the guide. On the south side, the route passes the Ribeira Quente waterfall, the village and Praia do Fogo, then viewpoints over Povoação and the southeast coast and over the rural village of Água Retorta. The Ponta do Sossego viewpoint has a barbecue area and gardens, and a coast line of strong green. Further stops are the Ponta do Arnel lighthouse, the oldest on the island, and the town of Nordeste, followed by a lunch stop. The afternoon reaches the Ribeira dos Caldeirões park and its waterfall, the best known on São Miguel. The Miradouro de Santa Iria then shows the north coast from Porto Formoso to Fenais da Ajuda and from Ribeira Grande to Bretanha. The tour ends back at the hotel or accommodation in Ponta Delgada.
