Private Guatapé River Morning: Sandy Beach, Swim and Brunch Picnic
This private half-day outing, 8:30 am to about 1:00 pm, takes one group at a time to a river near Guatapé that few people visit and that is used mostly by locals. Only the guests' own friends or family are in the group, and a local guide stays with them throughout. The meeting point is the main square of Guatapé, in front of the church. From there it is a drive of about 45 minutes along a mountain road with native vegetation to the Guatapé River. The river has a sandy beach where a camp and picnic are set up. The water is calm, clean and clear, and swimming is possible. About 3 hours are spent at the site, with no rush. Brunch comes in vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions: arugula, tomato and Serrano ham (optional) on pesto bread toasts, and a granola bowl with local fruit and Greek yogurt. Colombian coffee and herbal blends are served too. The price includes insurance in case of an accident. The group is driven back to the main square, arriving at about 1:00 pm.
