This private day links the Atlantic coast with the center of the island. It starts at Mar Chiquita beach, an emerging beach near San Juan, with an off-the-beaten-path hike over rock formations and wide views of the Atlantic Ocean. On the way the guide tells the Taino legend of how the beach was formed, and Atlantic waves breaking on the rocks make for photos. Afterward the guide drives to the center of the island by one of its most scenic routes, to Toro Negro State Forest, which the operator calls one of Puerto Rico's best-kept secrets and a more private alternative to El Yunque. The goal there is Las Delicias waterfall, described as one of the most beautiful and intimate on the island. Guests have up to 60 minutes at this private spot to bathe in the cool water, as the Taino ancestors did. The operator counts both the beach and the forest among the top five things to do in Puerto Rico, and the two are combined in a single day.
