A fully private day, led by local naturalist guides with flexible pacing. The first stop is the Tree Chocolate Farm in Bijagua de Upala. Here guests take part in the whole chocolate process: harvesting the cacao fruit, then drying, grinding and preparing the traditional ancestral drink, after a short history of cacao from tropical America to today's chocolate. The farm visit ends with a tasting of organic chocolate. The Llanos del Cortés waterfall is next, with a calm pool for swimming or cooling off and a sandy beach to rest on and watch the falls. The third stop is the Spring Paradise protected reserve in Bijagua, a private rainforest walk where sloths, poison dart frogs, toucans, monkeys, reptiles and birds can be seen, with the guide talking about the biodiversity and ecosystem of the forest. Guides are trained to spot wildlife.

Liberia

  1. Bijagua de Upala

At the Tree Chocolate Farm guests learn the history of cacao, from its origins in tropical America to modern chocolate. The guide has them join the whole process: harvesting the fruit, drying, grinding and making the traditional ancestral drink. A tasting of organic chocolate ends the visit, on a tour that can be adjusted to the group.

  2. Cataratas Llanos de Cortes

Llanos del Cortés waterfall is wrapped in green vegetation, and its water falls like a curtain into a calm pool for swimming or cooling off. A sandy beach beside the pool is a place to rest and look at the falls. The water is safe, and flora and fauna are varied in a compact area.

  3. Spring Paradise Bijagua Tours

A private guided walk through a protected rainforest reserve. Sloths, poison dart frogs, toucans, monkeys, reptiles and birds live there, and the guide explains the biodiversity and the delicate ecosystem of the forest.
