Pure Trek Canyoning near La Fortuna: Four Rappels, Monkey Drop and Lunch

Pure Trek has run canyoning out of La Fortuna since 2001, and its certified guides take groups of all ages through a canyon the company maintains itself. This half-day trip lasts about four hours and is built around four waterfall rappels, a rock climbing section and the Monkey Drop. Expect to get wet. Toucans, sloths and monkeys can turn up along the way, so keep an eye on the trees between descents. An air-conditioned van collects guests at their hotel, and the shuttle passes a view of Arenal Volcano. The price covers a professional guide, hotel pickup and drop-off, and lunch served at Pure Trek's headquarters once the canyon is done. A vegetarian option is available if requested at booking. A photographer works the route, but photos are sold separately and tips are not included. This is a shared group tour with up to 15 travelers per booking. The minimum age is 5 and a moderate level of fitness is expected. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes with straps that can get wet (no flip flops), and pack dry clothes for afterwards.
