Reykjavik Day Tour to Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, Reynisfjara and Sólheimajökull Glacier (12/12)

Ten hours, four main stops and a glacier you can touch. This full-day trip follows the southern coastline out of Reykjavik, past lava fields, to a run of the region's best-known sights with a guide on the bus. The first stop is Seljalandsfoss, where the path behind the water is open to anyone in waterproof clothing. Skógafoss comes next, with a staircase to the top of the falls and, in clear weather, a view of Eyjafjallajökull. Then Reynisfjara, the black sand beach known for its basalt formations and the Reynisdrangar rising off the coast, where the waves are dangerous and the guide asks everyone to keep watching them. At Sólheimajökull, visitors walk to the edge of the glacier and can touch the ice. The small village of Vik is also on the route. Roundtrip transport from selected central Reykjavik locations is available. The tour leaves from Tour Bus Stop 12 at Höfðatorg, Þórunnartún 1, and comes back to the same stop. A professional guide and Wi-Fi on board are included, while food and drinks are not. Infant seats are available, all fitness levels are fine, and bookings take up to 30 travelers. Guiding is in English.

  1. Þórunnartún 1, Reykjavík

Tour Bus Stop 12 at Höfðatorg, Þórunnartún 1 (64.144389, -21.910327).

  2. Seljalandsfoss waterfall

Visitors can walk behind this waterfall. Waterproof clothing is strongly recommended for it.

  3. Skogafoss

A staircase climbs to the top of the falls for a view from above. When the sky is clear, Eyjafjallajökull is also visible.

  4. Reynisfjara Beach

Basalt formations define this black sand beach, which looks out toward the Reynisdrangar. The waves here are very dangerous, so keep an eye on them at all times.
