Road to Hana in a Mercedes Sprinter: Waterfalls, Wai'anapanapa Black Sand Beach, Lunch
This Road to Hana day runs in a luxury, air-conditioned Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van that takes up to 14 passengers. A professional chauffeur narrates the drive, with knowledge of Hawaiian culture and history and a personal touch. The route covers the Hana Highway and its 617 curves and 56 one-lane bridges, with stops to swim at waterfalls and to walk on beaches. Wai'anapanapa State Park is where the group can swim at the best known black sand beach. The driver picks the lunch spot, and if time allows, fruit stands offer fresh fruit and vegetables to buy. Food, beverages and pickups at most hotels and resorts are included. Rainforest, waterfalls, plunging pools and dramatic seascapes line the drive, along with the historic moments and legendary tales that shaped the islands. The stops listed run to twenty, from Paia and Ho'okipa Beach Park to Twin Falls, Wailua Falls, the Hana lava tube, Hana Bay and Pua'a Ka'a State Park. The meeting points are in Kahului, Wailuku and Lahaina, each with its own early start time.
