A local naturalist guide leads this five-hour hike into an East Maui valley just off the Hana Highway, where several waterfalls drop within a short walk of one another. The pace is relaxed. Pools sit beneath the falls and are open for swimming, and the columnar basalt beside the water can be climbed for a jump into the pool below. Lunch and snacks are part of the day, and the guide points out the local flora along the way. Groups are small: 2 passengers minimum, 9 maximum per booking. The hike starts and ends at the Park & Ride in Kahului, so hotel pickup and drop-off are not included, and neither are gratuities. Guests need at least a moderate level of fitness and must be 6 or older. The hike runs in all weather, so dress for rain and mud, and wear athletic shoes that can get wet or sturdy sports sandals such as Tevas, Chacos or Keens. It is not recommended for pregnant travelers, people with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health. Guiding is in English.
