A private group, a local guide and a flexible pace across two countries. The day opens at The Big Tree on Zambezi Drive, a baobab believed to be over 1,200 years old, for a 20-minute stop with free admission. From there the route follows rainforest paths on the Zimbabwean side to viewpoints over Victoria Falls, known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, then crosses the Victoria Falls Bridge into Zambia with border assistance from the guide. On the Zambian side, trails and bridges lead into the spray, Knife-Edge Bridge among them. The route also takes in Livingstone town and an African market. The guide talks through the geology, history and culture of the falls, and the group sets the pace rather than a fixed schedule. The whole tour runs about five hours. The price covers a local guide, bottled water, a raincoat and an air-conditioned vehicle. Park entrance fees for Zimbabwe and Zambia are not included, and neither are visas: the KAZA Visa can be bought at the first border entry, whichever country that is. A local lunch and add-ons such as a helicopter flight can be included on request. Up to 15 travelers per booking, suitable for all fitness levels, with wheelchair accessible transport.

  1. Victoria Falls

The Big Tree on Zambezi Drive, a baobab believed to be over 1,200 years old. It stands nearly 20 meters high with a girth of 22 meters and is a favorite photo stop. The guide shares local legends and ecological facts about this ancient tree, which offers shade and a quiet moment before the thunder of the falls. The stop lasts 20 minutes and admission is free.

  2. Victoria Falls

A visit to Livingstone town and its African market.

  3. Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side, known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, the Smoke That Thunders. One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, it is nearly 1.7 kilometers wide and drops over 100 meters into the Zambezi Gorge. Well-kept rainforest paths and designated viewpoints give a different angle at each stop, and the guide explains the geology, flora and cultural meaning of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Mist, rainbows and the sound of the water come with the walk.

  4. Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls from the Zambian side, where trails and bridges lead into the spray. The walk crosses the Knife-Edge Bridge, with the roar of the water and swirling mist all around. Depending on the season the view runs from the full flood of the Zambezi to exposed rock and smaller cascades. The guide adds notes on geology, history and cultural significance. This side has fewer viewpoints but more direct encounters with the falls.

  5. Victoria Falls Bridge

The route between Zimbabwe and Zambia passes over the historic Victoria Falls Bridge, a steel arch completed in 1905 that spans 198 meters across the Batoka Gorge. It gives views of the Zambezi and of the mist rising from the falls. Crossing involves standard border formalities at the immigration posts on each side, and the vehicle drives across without stopping on the bridge. Guests should carry the right travel documents, as requirements vary with nationality and visa rules.
