Seven hours, two countries and a historic town. The day starts on the Zimbabwean side, where the Main Falls and the panoramic viewpoints line a rainforest walk, then crosses into Zambia for Knife-Edge Bridge and views of the Eastern Cataract, the Boiling Pot and the Zambezi. A guided tour of Livingstone, the tourism capital of Zambia, rounds out the day with its colonial history, markets, landmarks and the story of the explorer after whom the town is named. The guide covers history, geology, wildlife and local culture, and there is time at each viewpoint for photographs. In the high-water season the spray reaches the paths. Hotel pickup and drop-off and help at the border crossing are included. Entrance to the falls in Zimbabwe, to the falls in Zambia and to the Livingstone Museum is paid separately. Groups are small, up to 10 travelers per booking, and guiding is in English. On visas, the KAZA Univisa (USD 50) allows multiple entries between the two countries and day trips to Botswana via Kazungula, while travelers not eligible for it can buy a Zimbabwe double-entry visa (USD 50). Most nationalities do not need a Zambian visa. Bring US dollars in cash, since card machines at the border can be down.

  1. Victoria Falls

The tour begins on the Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls, with panoramic viewpoints and the Main Falls. A guide leads the walk through the rainforest and shares the history, geology and local legends behind the largest curtain of falling water in the world. The group then crosses into Zambia to see the falls from another angle. Knife-Edge Bridge gives views of the Eastern Cataract, the Boiling Pot and the Zambezi, and in the high-water season the spray that gave the falls their local name, Mosi-oa-Tunya (The Smoke That Thunders), falls on the walkers. The day ends with a guided tour of Livingstone, the tourism capital of Zambia: its colonial history, local culture, markets and landmarks, and the life of Dr. David Livingstone, who gave the town its name.

  • Visa Requirements – Zimbabwe & Zambia: Guided Tour of the Falls from Both Sides We recommend purchasing the KAZA Univisa (USD 50) if your nationality is eligible, as it allows multiple entries between Zimbabwe and Zambia during its validity and is the most convenient option for this tour. It also covers day trips to Botswana via Kazungula. If your nationality is not eligible for the KAZA Univisa, we recommend purchasing a Zimbabwe Double Entry Visa (USD 50) before crossing into Zambia and returning to Zimbabwe. The good news is that most nationalities do not require a visa for Zambia, but requirements vary depending on your passport. Please bring cash (USD) for visa payments, as card machines at the border may occasionally be unavailable. If you are unsure which visa applies to your nationality, please contact us before your tour and we will be happy to assist you with the correct visa requirements.
