A guided walk through Victoria Falls National Park for a small group, finishing at the Big Tree. The paths run through the rainforest to the main viewpoints: the Main Falls, Devil's Cataract and the Knife Edge Bridge, each with its own view of the Zambezi River. Along the way the guide points out the plants, birdlife and geology of the area and tells stories that connect the falls to local culture and history. The pace is relaxed and the tour lasts between two and three hours. The falls are known as Mosi-oa-Tunya, "The Smoke That Thunders", and the guide explains the name while the group walks through mist and rainbows in a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Big Tree is a baobab just outside Victoria Falls town, more than 1,000 years old, over 20 metres high and nearly 22 metres around. It is one of the largest and oldest trees in Zimbabwe. The stop is often made on the way to or from the falls, with time to hear what baobabs mean to local culture and ecology and to take a photo beside it. Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund.
