Kauai Private Doors-Off Helicopter Flight to Jurassic Falls, Waimea Canyon, Napali Coast

A private helicopter, flown with the doors off, and a route that follows the water across Kauai. The flight opens at Manawaiopuna Falls, the "Jurassic Park" falls, which drop between emerald ridges above Hanapepe Valley. It then crosses Olokele Canyon and Waimea Canyon, called the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific," where dozens of falls run down the walls, including the 2,000-foot Waipo'o Falls. Next is the Napali Coast, where 3,500-foot sea cliffs fall straight into the Pacific, and the pilot flies into the hidden Nualolo and Kalalau valleys. On the North Shore the green, carved Hanalei Valley has more waterfalls than anyone could count, among them the 3,000-foot Namalokama Falls. The last stop is the crater of Wai'ale'ale and its "Wall of Tears." This dormant shield volcano takes 500 inches of rainfall, which is why so many falls pour off it. The flight departs from the Lihue Airport Commuter Terminal.
