Kauai Secret Falls Kayak and Hike: 4.5 Hours, 4-Mile Paddle, 120-Foot Uluwehi Falls
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
KauaiUluwehi Falls, better known as Secret Falls, is one of the most requested waterfalls on Kauai, and this outing is set up so the logistics stay out of the way. Guests turn up at the riverside base, with no parking hunt at a crowded state park lot and no gear to rent, and the guides rig the kayaks and equipment. The paddle goes up the Wailua River through rainforest, 4 miles by kayak in total for the round trip. Then the boats are left behind for a 2-mile round-trip hike with stream crossings and muddy, uneven trail, which climbs about 465 feet in under 2 miles and ends at a 120-foot waterfall. The whole outing takes around 4.5 hours. Guests need to be at ease in the water and fit enough for both the paddle and the climb. Closed-toe shoes or sandals that strap to the foot are required for hiking and water (crocs and flip-flops are not allowed), and no meals, snacks or drinks are provided. Groups are guided in English, with up to 12 travelers per booking. Check-in is 30 minutes before the start.
