La Leona Waterfall Hike and Colorado River Whitewater Tubing, Curubande

Two outings share one booking, with a break between them. The first is the walk to La Leona Waterfall along the canyon of the White River, which means river crossings and passages through volcanic caves. On the way the group stops at natural pools to swim in turquoise water, and at the waterfall there is time to swim, rest and take photos and videos. Back at the starting point, everyone gets a snack of seasonal tropical fruit and a 30 minute rest before the second activity. Then the safety gear goes on, helmets and life jackets, for a run down the rapids of the Colorado River. The stretch is about 3.5 km and takes roughly 1 hour 30 minutes, bouncing through whitewater of class II to III under tropical forest. When the run is over, the group returns to the starting point to talk about the day and share feedback. The booking includes a dry bag, life vests if needed, the fruit snack, and all fees and taxes. The outing is set at about 4 hours. Guiding is in English, French or Spanish, and up to 15 travelers can book together. A moderate level of fitness is needed. It is not recommended for pregnant travelers or for people with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health. The start and pickup point is in Curubandé, in front of the school.
