La Leona Waterfall, Lazy River Tubing, Cliff Jumps and Hot Springs Day

Four stops fill this full-day outing across Guanacaste, with private transportation from the hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle. The ride to the first stop takes about 90 minutes. The day opens at Poza Los Coyotes. A short walk through the countryside leads to a canyon, and then guests drift down the river in a tube through clear blue water. After the float, the group heads for the main natural pool, where optional cliff jumps and a rope swing are on offer. Next is La Leona Waterfall. The hike follows the Blanco River past rock formations and small canyons, with swimming and a few natural obstacles on the way, and ends at the hidden waterfall and its clear pool. Lunch is a casado in the village of Curubandé, with a choice of protein. The day ends at Cañón de la Vieja Lodge at the foot of the volcano, with its natural hot springs, volcanic steam and a traditional mud treatment: the mineral-rich mud goes on the skin, dries, and is rinsed off in the warm water. Entrance to La Leona and to the hot springs is included, along with lunch, bottled water, life jackets if needed and a bilingual certified guide, with guiding in Portuguese, English, French or Spanish. Alcoholic drinks are not included, but guests may bring their own, because the van carries a cooler and ice.
