This four-hour outing is anchored at Chimbo Point, a spot in Materuni at about 1,500 m with views of Mount Kilimanjaro, where the coffee ceremony and lunch take place. For Moshi pick-up bookings a guide collects guests at their hotel by private car, Tuk Tuk or group vehicle and talks about local life and Chagga culture on the drive through the foothills. The waterfall hike takes about 30 minutes through forest, with local plants and native birds to spot and a swim at the end. A village guide is compulsory and leads the trails. At Chimbo Point guests roast, grind and brew Arabica the Chagga way, then eat a traditional hot Chagga lunch of bananas, vegetables and meat stews. Dancing and drumming, forest swings and a recreation area fill the time afterwards, and the guests are driven back to their hotel in Moshi. Included are an English-speaking local guide, private transportation, bottled water, the entrance fee, lunch, and coffee or tea. Alcoholic drinks, organic coffee bags and pictures sold as souvenirs are not, so some cash is useful. Up to 15 travellers can book together. Moderate fitness is expected, and the day is not recommended for travellers with poor cardiovascular health. Infants sit on an adult's lap.
