Private Materuni Waterfalls and Coffee Tour with Hot Lunch and Banana Wine Tasting

This private four-hour day trip from Moshi takes up to 7 travellers per booking. In the morning a driver collects the group in Moshi or at a location they choose and drives to Materuni village, where everyone registers at the village office before the trip begins. The first stop is the waterfalls, a walk of around 35 minutes with a local guide who explains Chagga culture, village life and the surrounding plants and animals. With some luck the summit of Kilimanjaro shows. The pool at the bottom of the fall is open for a swim, so swimwear belongs in the bag. The group then walks back to a traditional house for a hot Chagga lunch and a stop for banana wine tasting. The coffee session follows: how coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted and processed, ending with each guest making and drinking their own cup. The driver then takes the group back to the hotel in Moshi. Included are private transportation, banana wine, bottled water, all fees and taxes, the hot local lunch and a local guide. Personal items and tips for the guide and driver are not. Guiding is in English, infants sit on an adult's lap, and the day suits all fitness levels.
