Private 8:00 to 17:00 Wadi Shab and Bimmah Sinkhole Day with Lunch, Up to 11
This private day trip from Muscat runs from 8:00 to 17:00 and covers Wadi Shab and the Bimmah Sinkhole in an air-conditioned vehicle. Lunch (except during Ramadan), snacks, bottled water and all fees and taxes are included. Up to 11 travelers can book together, and guiding is in English or Arabic. The day begins with a pick-up in Muscat and the drive to Wadi Shab. The wadi is a canyon of green plantations, clear pools and walking trails, and the guides tell stories of the place along the way. Depending on water levels, the route involves some rock-hopping and possibly a boat ride. Emerald pools allow a swim, and hidden caves lead to a waterfall that falls into a still pool. The Bimmah Sinkhole comes next: a turquoise hole about 50 m wide, ringed by rocky cliffs, with a staircase that makes the way down easy. The guides tell the story of 'The Falling Star' and how it made this hole in the ground. Swimming in the clear water and sunbathing on the rocks are the usual things to do here. The day finishes with the drive back to Muscat. If bad weather cancels the experience, travelers can choose another date or take a full refund. The day suits all fitness levels, though it is not recommended for pregnant travelers or for anyone with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health. WiFi is not included.
