Private Wadi Shab Day Trip with Ras Al Shajer Coastal Drive, Gazelles and Omani Lunch
This private full-day trip is customizable and runs with a local guide, which suits nature lovers, photographers and anyone who prefers a more personal day out. It strings together a mountain road, a canyon, a sinkhole and a stretch of protected coast. The day starts with a drive through the Qurayyat region, past mountains, traditional Omani villages and views of the sea. At Wadi Shab a short boat ride leads to a moderate hike through the canyon. The trail ends at a cave that travelers swim into, with a hidden waterfall inside. It is the highlight of the day. Lunch follows at a local Omani restaurant. The afternoon moves on to Tiwi Beach, a quick stop where turquoise water meets rocky cliffs, then to the Bimmah Sinkhole, a limestone crater with clear turquoise water. Visitors can photograph it, rest, or go for a quick swim. The way back to Muscat runs along the coast between Fins and Bimmah and passes through the Ras Al Shajer Nature Reserve, a protected area. Rocky cliffs, sandy beaches and the Gulf of Oman line the road, and Arabian gazelles can sometimes be seen near it, mostly in the cooler parts of the day.
