Seven-Hour Private Materuni Waterfalls and Chagga Coffee Tour from Central Moshi (1/2)
Seven-Hour Private Materuni Waterfalls and Chagga Coffee Tour from Central Moshi (2/2)

This seven-hour private day starts at a pickup point in central Moshi. From the NMB Bank, turn right toward the local market or Kibo Palace Hotel, and after 200 metres the Leopard Hotel stands on the left. From there private transportation runs to Materuni village. The first activity is a hike of about 40 minutes to the waterfall. On the way the guide explains Chagga culture, village life and the local fauna and flora. The pool at the foot of the fall is open for a swim, so swimwear belongs in the bag. The coffee experience comes next: how coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted and processed, with an invitation to help grind the beans to Chagga songs and dances, and a cup of the coffee just made to drink with the rainforest in view. In the afternoon the group returns to Moshi. Included are private transportation, the entry fee, a hot local meal, a sightseeing tour of the coffee plantation and an English-speaking local guide. Tips for the guide and alcoholic drinks cost extra, and drinkers must be at least 18. Up to 15 travellers can book together, the day suits all fitness levels, and it is not recommended for travellers with poor cardiovascular health.
