Skogafoss, Seljalandsfoss and Jokulsarlon Day Tour from Reykjavik BSI Bus Terminal
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
ReykjavikThis day tour leaves from the BSÍ Bus Terminal in Reykjavik, a short walk from the city center, and drives the South Coast to Jökulsárlón. Skógafoss gets a stop on the way out, with views from below and, by staircase, from above. Further east the road crosses Skeiðarársandur, a wide plain of black sand, with the Skaftafell wilderness in Vatnajökull National Park in view. Just before the lagoon, Öræfajökull, Iceland's largest active volcano, comes into sight. Vatnajökull covers 14,000 square kilometers, and one of its sections, Breiðamerkurjökull, creates the lagoon. During the scheduled stop, Diamond Beach is a few minutes' walk away, with icebergs scattered across the black sand. Vík offers a restroom break and meal stops, with food at the group's own cost, plus souvenir shops and a short walk to the beach. On the return, Seljalandsfoss has a footpath behind the falls when the weather permits. Eyjafjallajökull, the volcano that erupted in 2010 and disrupted flights across Europe for weeks, is one of those the route passes.
