Small-Group Day from Muscat with Sunshine Tours Oman: Wadi Shab, Sinkhole, Fins Beach
Sunshine Tours Oman runs this small-group day from Muscat to Wadi Shab, the Bimmah Sinkhole and Fins Beach. Bottled water is included, and the day ends with a drop-off at the traveler's Muscat hotel. Lunch and the Wadi Shab boat are not included. The meeting point is Sunshine Tours Oman in Al Ghubra Al Shamaliyya, building 4211, first floor, room 14, near the hotel apartment Alferdous. It can be found on Google Maps under "Sunshine Tours Oman". The route follows the coast from Muscat to Quriyat and crosses the plateau down to Wadi Shab. The hike inside the wadi takes approximately 40 minutes through the gorge and green terraced gardens to a series of streams and pools, with swimming in two or three of them. The water is crystal clear. A narrow keyhole leads into a cave with a waterfall. Sturdy non-slip shoes and sandals for the hike are needed, along with swimwear and sunscreen. The Bimmah Sinkhole is a big crater near the sea with a small lake at the bottom, believed to have been created by a meteor. Its Arabic name, Hawaiyat Najm, means The Falling Star. The local municipality preserved it by building Hawiyat Najm Park around it, with a staircase down to the lake. The last stop is Fins Beach, a white, pebbly beach beside blue water.
