Three-Day Tumpak Sewu, Bromo Sunrise and Ijen Blue Fire Tour from Malang

Three East Java highlights fit into one trip from Malang, with a dorm bed in Banyuwangi instead of a hotel room. A morning pickup at the hostel, train station or bus terminal in Malang leads to Lumajang and Tumpak Sewu, where the route follows forest paths and small rivers down to the base of the falls. The group is driven back to Malang to rest, then collected again at midnight for the Bromo sunrise tour. A 4WD jeep crosses the Sea of Sand to a viewpoint for the sunrise over Bromo, Semeru and Batok, and the morning goes on to the crater, Widodaren Hill, Whispering Sand and the Teletubbies Hill savanna. Because the trip does not return to Malang afterwards, all belongings travel along. Around noon a shared car heads to Banyuwangi for one night in a dorm, before the night hike up Ijen, which starts with a short health check. The blue fire shows only before dawn, and the way down ends at Paltuding Post with a warm snack. Included are car and jeep transport, entrance tickets, parking and petrol, mineral water and fried banana for Ijen, and a gas mask and headlamp.
