Two-Day Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, Goa Tetes and Bromo Sunrise Tour (10/10)

Day one is all about water. A jungle trail leads down to the base of Tumpak Sewu, with a viewpoint above the canyon first and then a descent among mossy cliffs, where the guide helps on the way down and during the photo session. Goa Tetes comes next, a cave near the waterfall basin with rock formations, small waterfalls and water trickling from the ceiling. The ground is wet and rocky, so good footwear is recommended. Day two begins before dawn with a jeep ride to Mount Penanjakan, one of the best sunrise viewpoints at Bromo, where the sun rises behind Semeru. After that the route descends to the Sea of Sand, where visitors can walk or ride a horse to the foot of Bromo and climb the staircase to the crater rim. On the way the group passes Pura Luhur Poten, a Hindu temple in the middle of the sand, though the temple is not entered. The tour starts from Surabaya or Malang and includes hotel accommodation, breakfast and entrance fees. It suits travelers who want one night away and both sights in two days.
