Wadi Shab Boat and Hike Adventure with Bimmah Sinkhole, Fins Beach and Romantic Cave

The Wadi Shab part of this trip starts with a short boat ride, followed by a 45-minute hike through the mountains. At the end there are clear pools to swim in and a waterfall hidden inside a cave. The Wadi Shab adventure itself is billed at three hours. The day begins with a two-hour drive from Muscat, partly on off-road trails with mountain views. Wadi Shab is a large canyon gorge with palm trees and other greenery. At the last pool the route goes through the canyon and cave, fitting through crevices and openings, to a small waterfall dropping into cool blue water. Anyone who prefers not to swim can stay near the first pools, where the water is shallow. Bring sun protection, a hat, good walking shoes, swimwear, spare clothes, a towel and snacks. The hiking is partly challenging. The Bimmah Sinkhole comes next, with time for a swim and a rest in clear water. Fins Beach follows, known for white cliffs and a blue shoreline, and at sunset the sky fills with warm colors. The Romantic Cave is the last visit before the two-hour drive back to Muscat. Pick-up and drop-off are available anywhere in the Muscat area.
