Yoho Park Day Trip: Emerald Lake Canoe Stop, Natural Bridge and an Hour at Takakkaw Falls (5/5)

Three stops make up this Yoho National Park day, and two of them come with time to wander. At Emerald Lake the group can walk the shoreline, rent a canoe, or just sit and look at the water, which is known for its emerald colour, with alpine scenery all around. On the way, the Natural Bridge is a brief stop at a rock tunnel carved by the Kicking Horse River. Visitors see how the river has cut straight through the rock. The last stop is Takakkaw Falls, which drops 373 metres (1,224 feet) down the mountainside and is counted among the tallest waterfalls in Canada. The stop lasts an hour, long enough to explore the area around the base, stand in the mist and take photographs. The itinerary is short and simple, and the walking is left to each guest's pace. It covers two of the best-known sights of Yoho National Park without a long list of stops.
