A glacier hike is the centerpiece of this 12-hour minibus day out from Reykjavik. An experienced guide leads the walk on Solheimajokull, and the harness, ice axe, helmet and crampons are all supplied. Around it sit two more stops on the south coast: Seljalandsfoss, the waterfall with a path that goes behind the water, and the Reynisfjara black sand beach. The group is small, with a maximum of 18 people in the minibus and up to 15 travelers per booking, and WiFi is available on board. Pickup and drop-off are at designated bus stops in Reykjavik; some hotels do not allow buses, so the stop list at busstop.is or the hotel front desk shows where to go. Food and drinks are not included. Boots, a waterproof jacket and waterproof pants can each be rented for 1,750 ISK, and hard-soled hiking boots with ankle support are recommended, so they can be added when booking. The tour runs in most weather, so dress in warm layers with a waterproof outer layer. Minimum age is 8, and all fitness levels are welcome. The guide speaks English.
