2-Day Angkor Sunrise, Kulen Waterfall, Beng Mealea and Kampong Phluk Tour with Meals
Day one is Angkor, day two is everything around it. The first morning begins in the dark, with hotel pickup at 4:30 am for sunrise at Angkor Wat. Breakfast follows at a family-run restaurant in the Siem Reap countryside, then a stop in Preah Dak village for traditional palm cake, Ta Prohm with its tree roots wrapped around the stonework, and Angkor Thom, where the Bayon's 54 towers carry 216 faces. The group is back at the hotel around 1:00 pm. The second day heads north to Phnom Kulen. It starts with the Poeng Ta Kho cliff viewpoint, then the reclining Buddha at Preah Ang Thom pagoda and the 1000 Lingas carved into the riverbed, before a picnic lunch and a swim at the Kulen waterfall pools. The afternoon goes to Beng Mealea, a 12th-century temple swallowed by jungle vines, and by boat to the stilt houses and mangroves of Kampong Phluk on the Tonle Sap. Return to Siem Reap is around 6:30 pm, with a drop at the hotel or at the Old Market. Admission tickets for both days, breakfast, lunch (a vegetarian option is available), cold water and towels, an English-speaking guide, a driver and hotel transfers are all included. Soft drinks are not. Up to 14 travelers can share a booking, and the route suits all fitness levels.
