Beji Griya Waterfall Holy Bath Ceremony Near Ubud With Guide and Hotel Pickup
Beji Griya is a sacred waterfall in a canyon, and Balinese priests have held cleansing rituals here for generations. This four-hour outing is built around the melukat purification bath, led by a local authorized guide who stays with the group and explains each step. The ceremony begins with a welcome and a talk on what Balinese purification rituals mean. Offerings and incense are then prepared, and the group walks down through the canyon among tropical jungle to the pools. There is a purification ritual in natural pools, a spot to release tension beneath the falling water, and a final blessing with holy water from a Balinese priest. Offerings, incense sticks and a special sash for the bath are included, along with parking fees and a private hotel pickup and drop-off. Starting around 8:30 am, the transfer takes between 30 minutes and an hour depending on the hotel and traffic. Travelers can add the Heaven Swing, about 10 minutes by car from the waterfall, for a swing over the valley and a few themed photo settings. Food, drinks and personal expenses are not included. The site is sacred, so some waiting may be needed while the ritual is prepared. Women who are menstruating are asked not to take part, in line with local custom. Ages 10 to 60 are accepted, pregnant travelers are advised against joining, and a booking holds up to 15 people. Wear light clothes, and bring a swimsuit, a change of clothes and sunscreen.
