East Bali Private Day Tour: Tukad Cepung, Besakih, Tirta Gangga, Lempuyang
This private day tour heads east and strings together a cave waterfall, Bali's largest temple complex, a former royal water palace and the Gate of Heaven. Pickup covers Ubud, Seminyak, Kuta, Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Canggu, Sanur, Gianyar and East Bali, and the day takes about 7 to 8 hours including driving. Tukad Cepung comes first. The fall sits inside a cave and cannot be seen until the last 10 metres, after a walk through jungle, down some stairs and along a river between high rock walls. Besakih Temple is next: a complex of twenty-two temples on parallel ridges, regarded since the 15th century as Bali's central Hindu temple. Lunch is an optional stop at Lereng Agung Restaurant, with views of Mount Agung and a buffet, Western dishes, and vegetarian and halal choices. It is not included in the price. Tirta Gangga, built in 1946 by Anak Agung Ketut Anglurah, follows, then Lempuyang Temple and its gate framing Mount Agung. Private air-conditioned transport, an English-speaking guide, insurance and a bottle of water are included. Entrance tickets are covered when choosing option A. Up to 14 travelers can book together.
