Private 2-Day Angkor Wat and Phnom Kulen Waterfall Tour with Banteay Srei and Bayon (5/5)

Two days with a private driver and a licensed English-speaking guide: one for the Phnom Kulen National Park, one for the best-known temples around Angkor. The plan is deliberately loose. If a small temple along the road looks worth a stop, the guide pulls over, and the two of you decide together which ones deserve the time. Day one leaves the hotel at 8:00 am for Phnom Kulen, where a waterfall and the 1000 Shiva Linga carved into the riverbed draw most visitors. Lunch is at a local restaurant, and the drive back passes a Khmer village where palm sugar and palm cakes are made. Day two starts at 4:45 am for sunrise at Angkor Wat, then Banteay Srei (37 km from town), Ta Prohm, the Bayon and a photo stop at the South Gate of Angkor Thom. Included are the guide, the driver, an air-conditioned SUV or minivan, cold drinking water and hotel pickup and drop-off. The one-day temple pass, the Phnom Kulen park fee and all meals (around $6 to $8 a plate near the temples) are extra. Up to 15 travelers can share one booking. Shoulders, chest and knees must be covered at the temples, and a moderate level of fitness is expected. The vehicle is wheelchair accessible.
