Private 3-Day Angkor, Banteay Srei, Kulen Waterfall, Beng Mealea and Tonle Sap Tour
A private three-day route with a certified guide and driver who adjust the plan to requests and steer clear of the big tour groups. Day one is Angkor Thom (the gate with its carved Buddha and asura figures, the Bayon and its many large faces, Baphuon, Phimeanakas and both terraces), then Ta Keo, Ta Nei, Ta Prohm and Angkor Wat, with an optional sunset on Bakheng. Day two starts at 4:45 am for sunrise at Angkor Wat, followed by Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Som, East Mebon, Pre Rup and Banteay Srei, the pink temple known for some of the best carving in Cambodia, and ends at the floating village on the Tonle Sap, where houses stand on high stilts and children row to school. Day three goes to Kulen Mountain for the 1000 Lingas on the holy river, the cool waterfall and the large reclining Buddha, then to Beng Mealea, a jungle temple with trees growing out of its walls. The included items are an English-speaking guide, an air-conditioned vehicle, parking fees, fuel, and cold drinks, water and towels. Tips, the Angkor ticket, the Kulen mountain ticket, the private boat ticket and meals are extra. Up to 15 travelers can book together. Then comes Ta Prohm along a shady path, where giant tree roots grow over the structure and Tomb Raider was filmed. Lunch around the temples is paid by each traveler. Banteay Srei
Day 2: lobby pickup at 4:45 am for sunrise at Angkor Wat, with a packed breakfast (travelers whose hotel offers breakfast should ask for it to be packed). Next come Preah Khan, a sanctuary hidden deep in the jungle, and Neak Pean, a temple of Jayavarman VII in the middle of a man-made lake. Ta Som is known for giant roots growing over a Buddha's face, and East Mebon is a brick temple built before Angkor Wat in the middle of a dry man-made lake. After Pre Rup, Banteay Srei, the pink lady temple, is older than Angkor Wat and has some of the finest carving in Angkor. The road passes rice paddies and village homes, with a possible stop at a palm sugar village or the Land Mine Museum on request. After lunch (paid by each traveler), the Tonle Sap floating village shows students rowing to school, high stilt houses, monks at their temple and vendors selling from boats, plus a flooded forest and a floating market. The private cruise ticket is bought separately, from 20 USD per person depending on group size. Cold water and a cold towel are provided at every stop.

Phnom Kulen National Park
Day 3: the guide and driver meet the group in the lobby at 8:00 am and help buy the Kulen mountain tickets (20 USD per person, paid by the traveler). Kulen is one of Cambodia's most sacred mountains, and the former capital of the Khmer Empire stood to its north before the move to Angkor. Visitors can see where Tomb Raider was filmed, swim in the cool waterfall, see the 1000 Lingas on the holy river and visit the large reclining Buddha at the top, built in the 16th century by a Buddhist king when Cambodia's religion changed to Buddhism. A stop at the Kulen valley and lunch (paid by each traveler) come next, then Beng Mealea, an untouched jungle temple with trees and plants growing from its walls, before the drop-off at the hotel.
