Volcanoes shape the south of Iceland, and the coast below them holds some of the island's most striking scenery. This private day tour for up to nine passengers visits the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, the black sand beach at Reynisfjara and the town of Vík, with views toward the Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull glaciers. Because the tour is private, the plan can be flexible. The guides also know hidden places away from the famous attractions, and they show them to small groups on a personal tour, without wanting those places to become so well known that they fill with crowds. The suggested order saves Seljalandsfoss for the way back to Reykjavik, when the light on the falls is better. Vík is the place for a light lunch before the drive back. In summer a path leads behind Seljalandsfoss, and in winter the waterfall is lit up. The day takes about eight hours and a driver-guide is included, with guiding in English. The tour suits all fitness levels, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
