South Coast Day Tour with Free Time in Vik, Glacier Viewing and Seljalandsfoss
A short break at Hvolsvollur opens this 10-hour small-group day from Reykjavik, and Seljalandsfoss closes it as the final main stop. In between come Skogafoss, a 60-metre plunge with time to take photos, walk around and feel the spray, and Reynisfjara black sand beach, with basalt columns and powerful waves and some free time to explore. The group then stops in the village of Vik i Myrdal for a break: food (not included), local shops for souvenirs and views over the coastal town. Solheimajokull is a viewing stop, not a hike, at a tongue of ice that stretches down from the larger Myrdalsjokull glacier, since glacier hikes are not part of this tour. Seljalandsfoss can be walked behind, with mist on the face and time to look around. A knowledgeable local guide tells stories about the land and its history, and the group travels in a comfortable small vehicle. Pickup and drop-off are at designated bus stops in Reykjavik. Meals, drinks, personal expenses, glacier hikes and optional gratuities are not included. On some departures the guide speaks two languages and the tour is bilingual. Infant seats are available. Not recommended with spinal injuries. All fitness levels, up to 15 travelers per booking.
