South Coast Sagas Small-Group Day Tour with Vik Lunch Stop and Glacier Views
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
ReykjavikOn this 10-hour minivan tour from Reykjavik, glaciers, farmland and volcanoes line one side of the road south and the Westman Islands shimmer on the other. Live commentary runs on board. The first stop is Seljalandsfoss, where the path behind the water can be walked if the weather is good, and Gljufrabui, the hidden waterfall beside it, is visited depending on conditions. Skogafoss comes next, 25 metres wide with a 60-metre drop. The group then reaches Vik i Myrdal for a lunch stop and goes up to the church for photographs. Reynisfjara black sand beach follows, with basalt columns and heavy waves; the guide may pick another lunch location depending on weather or crowds. The Viking Trail along the coast leads to Solheimajokull, where the stop is for looking at the ice up close, as glacier hikes are not part of this tour. Pickup and drop-off are at designated meeting points, the air-conditioned vehicle has Wi-Fi, and taxes, fees and handling charges are covered. Food and drinks are not included. Children must be with an adult, and infants and children under 4 are not permitted. Dress for changing weather, with waterproof clothing. Up to 15 travelers per booking, guiding in English.
