Ubud Private Tour with Monkey Forest, Tirta Empul and Tegenungan Waterfall
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
KutaThis private day trip runs on one premium air-conditioned vehicle with a driver who also acts as guide and takes phone photos along the way. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, with transfers listed from Kuta, Ubud, Canggu, Seminyak, Sanur, Nusa Dua, Denpasar and Jimbaran. The day starts at a traditional Balinese house compound in Batuan, where the guide explains Tri Hita Kirana, the Balinese idea of living in balance. Next is the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, a guided walk among almost 900 long-tailed macaques, past the dragon bridge and the monkey temple. Tegalalang Rice Terrace follows, set on a cliff about 600 metres above sea level and a good place to understand the subak irrigation system. Lunch is at D'Alas Warung, with a jungle swing over the valley. Tirta Empul is next: local Hindus purify themselves in the holy springs here, and the springs count as a UNESCO-recognised source of the Ubud irrigation system. The last stop is Tegenungan Waterfall, about 15 metres high. Entrance fees, lunch, bottled water and the swing are covered.
