Bali ATV and Waterfall Tours by Quad Bike
20 listings from 1 to 9 hours, typically under 60 EUR. Twelve are rides of two hours or less, and one 90-minute listing holds 56% of the 4,219 reviews.
A Bali ATV and waterfall tour is usually a quad ride that happens to end at a waterfall, not a waterfall trip. Of the 20 listings here, 12 last two hours or less, and the typical one is a 90-minute ride, from under 30 to 60 EUR, through rice fields, a river and a tunnel, finishing at a plunge pool. In most listings the waterfall has no name. This page compares those short rides with the eight longer days that add a monkey forest, Tegenungan, rafting or a volcano jeep, and it reads what each includes: the gear, a meal that may turn out to be a sandwich, and age and weight rules that change from one operator to the next. For the falls on their own terms, see the Ubud waterfalls page.
One thing before the numbers. On a listing flagged shared, the price is per rider, and a tandem seat puts two people on one quad: on the listings we opened, tandem must be booked in pairs. The figures are what the operators list on 22 October 2026. Ten of the 20 are flagged shared and ten private. The reviews are lopsided: three listings hold 68% of the 4,219, and 12 of the 20 have fewer than 100. The 4.88 average is therefore the average of a few big products, and the lowest rating on the page, 4.2, belongs to the listing that calls itself official.

Bali ATV waterfall tour: a ride, a waterfall, a shower
The biggest listing shows the template. You report to a base in Payangan, about 10 km north-west of central Ubud, ride through a village, rice fields and jungle trails, cross rivers and a canyon, enter an underground natural tunnel, and finish on wet trails that lead to a waterfall and its plunge pool, where you can cool off. It takes 90 minutes and costs 30 to 60 EUR. Boots, a helmet, insurance, a changing room and a shower are in the price, and so is a snack of an egg sandwich and fries. A locker and towel are not: they need a deposit of IDR 100,000 per person.
| Kind of listing | Listings | Length | Price band | Reviews | Where the waterfall comes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Short quad ride | 12 | 1 to 2 hours | From under 30 to 60 EUR | 3,309 | Last stop of the track, often unnamed |
| Longer day | 8 | 3.5 to 9 hours | From under 30 to 120 EUR | 910 | One stop among others: monkey forest, Tegenungan, rafting, a volcano |
The short rides are close to one product sold under many names. Twelve of the 20 titles name a tunnel, and the plot barely changes: village, rice field, river, tunnel, waterfall, shower. So the choice between them is rarely about the track. It is about the group size, the meeting point, whether a transfer is included and what the operator says about age and weight.
Where the ride starts
"Ubud" in a title is a region, not a meeting point. The 90-minute listing meets at a base in Payangan, and the 283-review listing meets at another one on Jalan Begawan Giri, also in Payangan, with a separate point for its rafting option. Both sit north-west of Ubud's center. Without a transfer you need your own way to get there, and several listings sell the ride "with or without" a private pickup. On the 90-minute listing the time slot is your arrival time at the base.
What the track is made of
Rice fields first, then the river
The photo shows terraced paddies in the Bali hills, the early part of the track in the listings we opened. They describe the rest in the same order, from rice fields to jungle trails to river sections, with the tunnel and the waterfall near the end. One operator calls the sequence "wet and challenging trails".
Its own advice is to bring a change of clothes, sunscreen and some cash. Another listing charges extra for photos and video on a USB drive, so the camera question is worth settling before you start.
The catalog flags 19 of the 20 listings as including lunch. Read that as a tag, not a menu. On the 2,344-review listing the meal is an egg sandwich and fries. On the 5-hour Munduk day it is a four-course lunch at the base camp, with a picnic lunch on the way. On the 8-hour Gorilla Cave day it is a set menu with access to a swimming pool bar. The word covers a snack and a meal alike.
Reading the ratings
The review counts deserve a second look before you pick by rating. Beyond the 2,344-review listing, only two others pass 250: the 283 and the Munduk day's 252. Five listings have fewer than 30 reviews. The one that calls itself official is the dearest of the short rides, in the 30 to 60 EUR band, and the lowest rated, 4.2 on 55 reviews. A name on a listing is not a measure of the ride.
Who can ride: the rules differ by operator
| Listing | Solo riders | Children | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ubud ATV Quad Bike Tunnel Waterfall Tour, 30 to 60 EUR, 90 minutes | 13 to 65 years | 6 to 13 as tandem passengers with a parent; under 6 not allowed | 150 kg |
| Quad Bike Through Gorilla Cave, 60 to 120 EUR, 8 hours | 16 and over | 9 to 16 on a tandem with an adult | 50 to 120 kg on a single 250cc |
| Haunted Valley Waterfall ATV and Bike Tour, 60 to 120 EUR, 5 hours | Not stated | Not stated | Not stated |
Two operators, two rules: a 13-year-old rides alone at one and is a passenger at the other, which asks for 16. Read the good-to-know block, and for a family, message the operator before you pay. Pregnant travelers are excluded on the listings that state a rule, and the ones we opened also warn against spinal injuries and poor cardiovascular health.
A 90-minute ride with a waterfall at the end is a quad ride. Book it for the quad.
Price against length
Where the dots cluster
On the chart the short rides pile up around 1.5 hours. Ten of the 12 cost from under 30 to 60 EUR; the two outliers, a private ride and a listing that calls itself official, sit at the top of that band. Past three hours the dots scatter: under 30 EUR for 5 hours at the cheap end, a quad plus a rafting trip, and the Munduk buggy day, in the 60 to 120 EUR band, at the top.
That scatter is the sign of different products under one word. Shared and private split the page ten and ten, and the prices follow one rule: per person on shared and private listings alike, with no private listing quoting one price for the whole group.
One listing in this category is not a quad at all. The Mount Batur sunrise listing, 9 hours in the 30 to 60 EUR band, is named a jeep tour in its title. If you only want an ATV, skip it.
The longer days and the Munduk buggy day
The 8-hour Gorilla Cave listing, in the 60 to 120 EUR band, lists about two hours on the quad, then the Ubud Monkey Forest and Tegenungan, a set lunch and a hotel transfer. The 350cc listing, in the 30 to 60 EUR band and also 8 hours, pairs the quad with the monkey forest and a waterfall. Blogs describe Tegenungan as one of the busiest waterfalls on the island, so the combos trade a quiet plunge pool for a crowded one.
The 5-hour Munduk listing is another region. It starts at a base camp in the Munduk highlands and runs 24 km: 2.5 hours of driving a Finn Komodo buggy, 30 minutes on a mountain bike, 30 minutes through rice terraces, then a 10-minute walk downhill to a waterfall where you can swim, and lunch at the base. It sits in the 60 to 120 EUR band and has 252 reviews. It is a different day from the Ubud rides, not a longer version.
Choose by what you want. For the ride, a 90-minute listing from under 30 to 60 EUR is the market, and the reviews say it works: 2,344 on one listing, 283 and 226 on two others. For a waterfall you can name, take a combo. For the highlands and a swim, the Munduk day. The Bali waterfall tours page is the better fit if the falls are the reason you are going.

Questions about Bali ATV and waterfall tours
Can children ride the ATV on a Bali waterfall tour?
It depends on the operator. One 90-minute listing takes children aged 6 to 13 as tandem passengers with a parent and lets riders from 13 to 65 ride solo, with no one under 6. Another asks for 16 to ride alone and puts children aged 9 to 16 on a tandem with an adult. Check the listing you book.
How long is the ride itself?
Shorter than the listing. The 8-hour Gorilla Cave day lists about 2 hours on the quad, and the 5-hour Munduk day 2.5 hours of driving. For the 90-minute rides, check whether the figure counts the briefing and the stops as well.
Is the waterfall stop guaranteed?
None of the four listings we opened says what replaces the waterfall stop when it is closed or in flood. Every one names a waterfall or a plunge pool on its route, but none promises it. If the waterfall is why you are buying, ask the operator.
What should I wear?
Clothes you can get wet. The listings describe rivers, mud and wet trails, boots and helmets are supplied, and the advice on the biggest listing is to bring a change of clothes, sunscreen and some cash.
Does an ATV tour include hotel pickup?
Several listings sell the ride with or without private transfer, and the price changes with it. On the 90-minute listing the time slot is your arrival time at the base, so a pickup comes earlier.
Want the falls without the quad?
The Bali waterfall tours page reads 20 full-day trips by private car.
