Dunn's River Falls tour from Ocho Rios
20 listings from under 60 to more than 250 EUR. The falls are about 10 minutes from the Ocho Rios pier, so the price depends on what is added to the climb.
Ten of the 20 Dunn's River Falls tours from Ocho Rios take 3 hours or less, and the cheapest of the whole page costs under 60 EUR. That works because the park is about ten minutes from the cruise pier by road, so the trip is a climb with a short drive on either side, not a day out. Prices then spread to more than 250 EUR because the other half of the listings bolt something on: a catamaran, a zipline, a horse, a market. This page is for the port day and for the hotel in Ocho Rios: where you meet the driver, what the gate adds to the price, and what a six-hour boat trip does to a rating. Leaving from Montego Bay is a different purchase and sits on the Montego Bay page. For the park and the rest of the area, see Ocho Rios.
Two other pages share this park. Dunn's River Falls and Blue Hole in one day adds the swimming-hole waterfall to the climb, and the Blue Hole page sells it alone. No listing here puts Falmouth in its title, so the Falmouth half of this page's name is an open question, taken up below. Prices on this page are in EUR, as the catalogue lists them. The park sets its own gate fees and they are not quoted here, because the tariff changes. Read the sections in order if you are choosing between a plain climb and a boat day, and jump to the table on the gate if all you want is to compare the cheap listings.

Dunn's River Falls tours from Ocho Rios: ten minutes of road
One private listing from the Ocho Rios pier says the falls are 10 minutes away and that you spend about an hour and a half on them. Add the same ten minutes back and the afternoon is roughly 2 hours 10 minutes of moving and climbing, which is why the plain listings are marked 2, 2.5 or 3 hours. Ten of the 20 sit at 3 hours or below, and the shortest are 2 hours, private, at roughly 30 to 250 EUR.
Everything past 3 hours is something else sold with the climb. The median listing is 3.5 hours because four of them are boat days, three have a zipline and others add a horse, a river or a shopping stop.
The climb is an hour and a half. If your listing is six hours, ask what the other four and a half are.
| Step | Time | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Pier or hotel to the falls | About 10 minutes | A private Ocho Rios listing |
| Climb and time in the park | About 1 hour 30 | The same listing; a Montego Bay listing says 1 hour 30 to 1 hour 45 |
| Back to the pier or hotel | About 10 minutes | Same road |
| Listed length of the plain climbs | 2 to 3 hours | Four listings: 2, 2, 2.5 and 3 hours |
Meeting the driver at the pier, and the clock behind you
The Ocho Rios listings are written for a ship. Meeting points are a sign held outside the gate of the pier, a representative at the exit area near the fence, and in one case a sign for a shop about 3 minutes on foot from the main gate. Another listing meets just outside the main gate at Island Village. If you are staying in a hotel instead, the same listings collect you there; every one of the 20 includes pickup.
The listings treat time as a ship's problem. One says the start is flexible around the ship's arrival, that the driver stays with you at every stop, and that you get a full refund if the ship cannot dock in bad weather. A Dunn's River listing elsewhere in this catalogue asks for the ship's name, docking time, disembarkation time and re-boarding time when you book. None of this is a guaranteed return to the ship, and the listings do not call it one.
Falmouth is the open question. No title among the 20 mentions it, and we found no reliable road time from the Falmouth pier to the falls, so we give none. If your ship docks there, get the time and the latest safe departure from the operator in writing.
What you wear for the climb
The climb is up rock steps with water running over them, and the listings say so plainly. The Kool Jamaica Tours one asks for water shoes, beach towels and swimwear, and notes that the shoes can be bought or rented at the attractions. The longer description of the climb gives it as about 600 feet from the beach to the top.
That is all this page says about the falls. The park's history, its height and its rules are on the Ocho Rios page. What belongs here is the buying side: whom you meet, how long they keep you and what you pay at the gate.
What the gate does to the price
Entrance is the line that rearranges the price ranking. Adults and children pay different rates, going by the listings here and by the Gleaner in January 2025, and the park sets its own tariff, so check the current one. The sources disagree on the child age: the listings say 4 to 11, the Gleaner 4 to 12. Nothing on the park's own pages settled a 2026 figure. Now read the cheap end. The cheapest private listing says in its notes that the entrance is not included. The shared listing from Kool Jamaica Tours, in the same 30 to 60 EUR band, says all entry fees are. For an adult, the gate fee is higher than the difference between the two prices, so the dearer-looking listing is the cheaper one at the gate.
| Listing | Price band | Length | Entrance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private sightseeing and shopping | 30 to 60 EUR | 4 hours | Not included: adults and children 4 to 11 pay at the gate |
| Dunn's River Falls from Ocho Rios (Kool Jamaica Tours) | 30 to 60 EUR | 2.5 hours | All entry fees included |
| Falls Flyer zipline and falls | 250 to 500 EUR | 4 hours | A ticket bought in advance is handed to each guest |
| Catamaran cruise (Attractions of the Caribbean) | 120 to 250 EUR | 6 hours | Not listed either way; lunch and drinks are |
What the price buys in Ocho Rios
Two clusters and a few strays
The chart splits in two. Below 60 EUR are six listings of 2 to 4 hours, shared and private, that are a driver and a climb. Most of the marks above 120 EUR are the boat days and the combinations, at 4 to 6 hours. The private median is typically 60 to 120 EUR (lower still without the one group-priced listing) against 120 to 250 EUR for the shared listings, which is the reverse of the Montego Bay page, because a private car over ten minutes is cheap.
Two marks need a note. The zipline listing, above 250 EUR, is the dearest and has 16 reviews. The private shopping listing, also in the 250 to 500 EUR band, has 9 reviews, lists bottled water as its only inclusion and has no meeting point, so we read it as a thin listing, not a premium one. Its price is also the one price on this page quoted for the whole group, not per person, which is why it sits so far above the other private listings.
Catamarans, and why the rating is 4.57
The largest operator here, Attractions of the Caribbean, holds 48% of the page's reviews across three listings, and its catamaran cruise alone has 385. That cruise is in the 120 to 250 EUR band for 6 hours, includes lunch and alcohol, makes a 30-minute snorkel stop and ends with a rum punch party on the way back; hotel pickup covers both Ocho Rios and Montego Bay. Its rating is 4.3. Because it weighs so heavily, the page's weighted rating is 4.57, the lowest of the four Dunn's River pages, while the other sixteen listings come to 4.75 weighted.
Judge it by what it is: a boat day with a waterfall stop in the middle, not a waterfall tour. A shorter cruise from Island Routes is in the same band for 4 hours at 4.5, and so is a party cruise that adds the Blue Hole and snorkeling, for 6 at 4.8 on 94 reviews.
Zipline, horses and a market
Three listings add a zipline. The one over the falls, from El Sol Vida, is in the 250 to 500 EUR band for 4 hours. A catamaran, zipline and snorkel day is in the 120 to 250 EUR band for 6 hours. A horseback-and-zipline day is in the same band for 7. The catamaran listing's notes give weight limits of 265 lb for the zipline and 275 lb for snorkeling, and the Falls Flyer lists 265 lb and a minimum age of 6.
The shopping combinations are the cheapest way to fill a ship day with something else. A shopping stop in the town of Ocho Rios comes with the climb for 30 to 60 EUR over 3 hours in one listing. It is a reasonable use of the time you would otherwise spend on the pier, if the shops are what you want.
Which Ocho Rios listing to book
For two adults who just want to climb: the shared listing with entry included, 2.5 hours, at 30 to 60 EUR, is the best value on the page and has 56 reviews at 4.8. For a ship day where you want your own timing, a private 2-hour listing, also in the 30 to 60 EUR band, is the most flexible, but check the gate. For a party day, take the catamaran and expect a party, not a climb. And if you want two waterfalls, the Dunn's River and Blue Hole page is where the combinations are compared.
Questions about Dunn's River Falls tours from Ocho Rios
How far is Dunn's River Falls from the Ocho Rios cruise pier?
A private Ocho Rios listing says 10 minutes. A Royal Caribbean guide from 2025 says under 10. The climb itself takes about 1 hour 30.
Is the entrance fee included?
It depends on the listing. The climb from Kool Jamaica Tours includes all entry fees. The cheapest private listing does not, and the Falls Flyer hands you a ticket bought in advance. Where the gate is paid separately, check the current tariff at the park.
Can I book from Falmouth?
No title among the 20 says Falmouth, and we found no reliable road time from the Falmouth pier. Ask the operator for the pickup point, the road time and the return deadline in writing before you pay.
What happens if my ship cannot dock?
One listing says you get a full refund if the ship cannot dock because of weather. Others do not say. Check the cancellation line of the listing you pick; most here offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure.
Is a catamaran trip a good way to see Dunn's River?
It is a good boat day and a short climb. The catamaran cruise takes 6 hours, of which the climb is a part, and it has a 4.3 rating on 385 reviews. If the waterfall is the point, book a plain climb.
Did Dunn's River reopen after Hurricane Melissa?
Yes, by the operator's own notice: the Urban Development Corporation reopened Dunn's River on 11 November 2025, after the hurricane of 28 October. Hours and prices shift, so ask for your date.
