Iguazu Falls Brazilian Side Tours: Cataratas do Iguaçu From Foz do Iguaçu

20 tours from under 60 to more than 250 EUR, typically 60 to 120 EUR. Most take about five hours, three in four collect you at the hotel, and the price turns on one question: is the park ticket in it?

The Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls typically costs 60 to 120 EUR to visit with a tour, and that number hides a split. The cheapest of our 20 listings is an entry ticket under 60 EUR with no transport. The dearest is a ten-hour day above 250 EUR with a helicopter, a boat and a bird park. In between sits the plain version: a trail of about 1.5 km above the river, ending at the Garganta do Diabo catwalk when it is open, wrapped in a ride from your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu. This page reads the 20 tours one by one: what each price includes, where the day starts, which add-ons earn their money and which ones you can skip without missing the falls. How the falls formed, and the visiting rules that apply to both banks, are on the Iguazu Falls page.

The other bank has its own page: the Argentine side. If you want both in one day, with the border crossing and about eight hours, go to both sides of Iguazu Falls. Here we stay on the Brazilian bank, the one listings sell for its panorama. Most of its tours are half-day outings, so the useful question is what the price covers, how long the day really is and whether you want the boat or the flight. The sections below answer those in that order, starting with the walking tours that most people book and ending with the mistakes that cost money.

What a Brazilian side tour adds to the park ticket

The Parque Nacional do Iguaçu has one main route on this bank, the Trilha das Cataratas. The park's own pages disagree: one says about 1.5 km, another says 1 km on foot, and operator listings quote 1,200 to 1,400 m. You look across the river at the Argentine falls, then, when it is open, the path ends on a catwalk beside the Garganta do Diabo, and a panoramic lift or stairs take you up to the Porto Canoas area. The park's own site lists 9:00 to 16:00 on weekdays and 8:30 to 16:00 at weekends, and it sells tickets online only. One Civitatis listing gives 9 am to 5 pm, which does not match the park's site. A tour does not change any of that. What it sells you is the road between your hotel and the trailhead, someone who knows the order of the day, and in some listings the entrance fee.

Green catwalk over the river on the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls with a rainbow in the mist

The trail

The walk is short, so the day is mostly logistics

Time on the walkways is 1.5 to 2 hours in the listings that say. The Civitatis tour describes a 1.5-hour guided walk inside a 6-hour day, and the Puerto Iguazú tour puts the walkways at about an hour and a half to two hours inside five. The rest is the drive, the check-in at the gate and any stop the operator adds. One 3-hour tour opens with a 30-minute stop at a chocolate shop on the Avenida das Cataratas, so a sixth of the day goes on souvenirs.

The green catwalk in the photo is where the trail ends when the river is low enough. High water closed it in 2026, and the park posts the status on its own site.

Walking tours: roughly 30 to 120 EUR, and the ticket question

Plain walking tours, with a guide and a vehicle and nothing else bolted on, sit at roughly 30 to 120 EUR and take 2 to 6 hours. They look interchangeable and are not. We opened eight listings in full and the park entrance is the line that varies. Two tours, in the 30 to 60 and 60 to 120 EUR bands, include it. A tour from Puerto Iguazú and a private tour, both in the 30 to 60 EUR band, leave it out, which makes the cheaper-looking ones the dearer ones once you stand at the ticket window.

Read the table from the fourth column inward. The first line is a fast-track ticket with no seat in a vehicle.

Compare the lines under "not included" before you compare the number at the top.

If you book from Puerto Iguazú, ask for the passport rule too: the listing says citizens of Australia, Canada and the United States need a Brazilian visa, which is a government rule you should check with the consulate and not with the operator.

Helicopter, boat and bird park: what the add-ons cost

The helicopter is the most expensive minute on the page. Helisul Experience sells a flight of about 10 minutes in the 120 to 250 EUR band, and two other flights cost the same band. The price is for one seat. A flight needs at least 4 passengers to go, there is no fixed departure time because helicopters leave when they fill, and the transfer to the helipad on the Avenida das Cataratas is not included. One combination listing says weather can reschedule or cancel the flight, with a refund. Helisul's listing alone holds 17% of the reviews on this page, 341 of 1,989.

The boat is the Macuco Safari. You ride an open vehicle through the forest and board an inflatable boat that goes up to the base of the falls and into the spray. The operator's own text says to bring dry clothes, and the Macuco part alone takes about 1 hour 20 minutes. The two days in the 120 to 250 EUR band include it with the park ticket; the day above 250 EUR includes the boat, the helicopter and the Parque das Aves bird park but not the park entrance, and it needs 3 passengers to run. The bird park by itself appears in a full-day tour in the 60 to 120 EUR band and a private one in the 120 to 250 EUR band.

Chart of the prices of the 20 Iguazu Falls Brazilian Side listings on waterfalls.travel, median 88.4 EUR

Price by length

What the chart shows

The cluster at the bottom is the walking tours, at roughly 30 to 120 EUR and 2 to 6 hours. The two marks at the far left are the 10-minute flights, both in the 120 to 250 EUR band; a third flight, in the same band, sits at 2.2 hours. All three are dear for the time they take. The boat and combination days rise to the upper right.

One oddity: the shared median sits in the 120 to 250 EUR band and the private median in the 60 to 120 EUR band, the reverse of what you would expect. Four privates are mostly 2 to 4 hour drives with a guide and the park left out, while the shared list holds every combination day. Private tours here are priced per person, like shared seats; only the private transport with a guide to the Brazilian falls and the bird park, in the 120 to 250 EUR band, quotes one price for the whole group.

Starting from Puerto Iguazú changes the day

Most Brazilian side tours collect you in Foz do Iguaçu, and 75% of the listings include a hotel pickup. The Civitatis tour says outright that it picks up from Foz hotels only. At least two options leave from Argentina: the walking tour in the 30 to 60 EUR band and an eight-hour day in the 60 to 120 EUR band with the bird park and the Itaipu Dam. Both cross the border. The Puerto Iguazú listing says time at customs runs from half an hour to a few hours depending on season and crowd, and it asks for passport details at booking. Count that into the 5 hours before you plan anything afterwards. The five listings without pickup include the ticket and the Helisul flight, where you make your own way.

What a high river does to this side

The Garganta do Diabo catwalk is the end of the trail and the first thing a high river removes. When the water rises the park closes it and posts the notice on its own site, and the walk still runs without it. We do not give dates here because the status changes by the day and this page does not. What you can do is book a listing that refunds. All nine we opened in full allow free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. The Puerto Iguazú listing also warns that some activities are affected by low water, and the Macuco and helicopter listings say weather can reschedule them.

Mistakes that cost money on the Brazilian side

People make four of them all the time. The first is comparing two prices that cover different things, as in the table above. The second is expecting to get wet on the trail: from the catwalk you get mist, and the soaking comes from the Macuco boat. The third is booking the helicopter as a fixed appointment; with no scheduled takeoffs, a flight is a slot that fills, so leave an hour either side. The fourth is treating the ticket-only listing as a tour. It gets you through the gate and nothing else.

There is a fifth for anyone planning both banks. They do not share an itinerary, and the Brazilian bank fits a half day. Put the other bank on another morning, or choose a multi-day package that gives each bank its own day.

Questions about the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls

Is the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls worth it?

A half day on this bank gets you the long view: the trail faces the Argentine falls and ends beside the Garganta do Diabo when the catwalk is open. Tours here run 2 to 6 hours and typically 60 to 120 EUR. It is the shorter and drier option, so it suits a travel day or a first morning. For the closest views people usually add the Argentine bank.

How long does the Brazilian side take?

Time on the walkways is about 1.5 to 2 hours. With transport the tours run 3 hours (MMC Turismo) to 6 hours door to door (Civitatis), and add-ons stretch it to 8 to 10 hours. A helicopter flight is about 10 minutes plus the wait for it to fill.

Do I need a tour, or can I go on my own?

You can go on your own: the park sells tickets online only and the trail starts inside the gate. A tour sells transport, a guide and sometimes the entrance. The ticket-only listing is under 60 EUR; the shortest tours with a ride start in the same band.

Is the park ticket included in the price?

It depends on the listing. Of the eight we compared, four of the tours include it, and the tour from Puerto Iguazu, the private tour and the helicopter combination do not. The line is under What's included or Not included on each listing.

Can I do the Brazilian side from Puerto Iguazú?

Yes. Two tours leave from Puerto Iguazú and cross the border. Bring a passport for every traveler. Customs time is not fixed, so the listing says 5 hours but warns it can run longer.

Do I get wet on the Brazilian side?

On the trail you get spray and mist. You get soaked on the Macuco Safari boat, which several day tours include, in the 120 to 250 EUR band. Bring dry clothes if you take it; the operator says so itself.

Seeing the other bank too?

Both sides in one day add the border, a second park and about eight hours, typically 60 to 120 EUR.
